Train for Life: September
Retired Los Angeles Police Officer Kristina Ripatti was shot and injured in the line of duty in 2006. She is known by friends and colleagues for her passion to work out and train. Once asked what she was training for, she responded, "I am training for life."

Her response has now become her motto as she rallies her friends and co-workers from the Southeast Division to participate in the Train for Life Golf Challenge for Operation Progresss student college fund. Kristinas powerful message to never quit is spoken less with words and more with her actions. She continues to give tirelessly of herself speaking at Operation Progress events as well as a myriad of other non-profit events.

Kristinas husband Tim Pearce is on the board of directors of Operation Progress and plays an active part in the daily fight to rid the Los Angeles streets of the criminals and the crime that nearly took his wife, Kristina's life.
