"The Los Angeles Police Department is very supportive of the efforts of our officers who are involved in Operation Progress. We are proud of their dedication and collective efforts to help deserving inner city youth who, despite difficult living situations, have a strong desire to continue their education. The very same entrepreneurial spirit of these officers that has helped students pay for their college educations will now be on display as they participate in this year's Race Across America. I encourage everyone to get involved and support Team Operation Progress." -Chief Beck, LAPD
